V.92 is a new standard for dial-up communications that offers several improvements over the existing
V.90 standard. The results make communications faster, easier and more user friendly. V.92 and it's companion
compression standard V.44 are approved by the ITU (International Telecommunications Union).

V.92 modems offer 3 features that improve connection speeds:
1.) The "automatic negotiation" or "handshake" can be accomplished in as little as half the time with QuickConnect.
The QuickConnect feature allows the modem to "learn" and "remember" the variables associated with calling a specific telephone
number and connecting to a specific modem associated with that number. This feature is most effective when you repetitvely call the
same number, such as your internet service provider. The modem uses the stored profile to cut the time it takes to make the connection.
2.) The new international data compression standard, V.44 was designed specificaly for the internet and can double
